Strategies and Activities GHEF engages in three interconnected strategies that guide our work and shape our programs: Research We collect, measure, analyze, and present data to develop qualitative, influential recommendations. Our goal is to equip both health leaders and grassroots actors with context-specific tools and methodologies tailored to the customs and cultures of each community. Advocacy We raise awareness of health inequities and the universal right to impartial care. By educating communities and championing solutions — including through powerful media projects — we advocate for displaced and underserved populations, pushing for greater access to healthcare, prevention, and education. Capacity Building We work to improve local conditions in lasting ways. Through training, coaching, and direct community support, we strengthen individual and collective skills so that healthcare access, health education, and prevention services can flourish. By intertwining research, advocacy, and capacity building, our activities become mutually reinforcing, each amplifying the impact of the others while maintaining a clear, unique focus. Our Commitment At GHEF, we stand for global health equity as an essential discipline within public health education and governance worldwide. Whether working through local dialogues, narrative-driven interventions, or strategic global partnerships, we strive to embed resilience, empathy, and informed decision-making within every community we serve. The GHEF Board of Trustees, composed of distinguished professionals from medicine, public health, law, education, and the economics, meets annually to guide the foundation’s strategic direction and ensure mission alignment across programs and partnerships.
The GHEF Board of Directors (USA Chapter) provides governance and fiduciary oversight for our U.S.-based activities and collaborations, contributing strategic input and reporting that aligns with the broader mission set by our Geneva headquarters and Board of Trustees.
Honorary Board Members are former Trustees and Directors who, while no longer holding voting roles, continue to serve as valued advisors. With deep institutional memory, they offer continuity, historical insight, and strategic guidance to support the current governance and ongoing mission of GHEF.
The GHEF Glossary offers clear definitions and contextual explanations of key terms used throughout our programs, publications, and advocacy work—supporting transparency, accessibility, and shared understanding across diverse audiences.
At the Global Health Equity Foundation (GHEF), we build robust partnerships across disciplines and geographies to expand our reach and deepen our impact. Our work is strengthened by collaborations with universities, public health institutions, community organizations, and international networks.
